Cup & Cake

Here an advice for everybody in Barcelona who wants to give themself a special treat, who is craving something sweet or just wants to try the best cupcakes in town: Cup & Cake.

They are a little chain and have four cute shops in Barcelona. The one I always went to is the smallest one, but is located right in the middle of the city centre. From the square of Universidad it is just a stone’s throw away and also from the Rambla you can get there in less than 5 minutes. It is situated in Calle Tallers and consists pretty much just of a tiny room with a counter full of goodies. This shop just offers take-away, so if you want to grab some cupcakes to take it to a friend’s place or to eat it somewhere on a square in the sun, it is perfect. If you rather want to sit inside you might have to find the other Cup & Cake shops, which also offer sitting possibilities.

The cupcakes at Cup & Cake are nothing like the industrial produced sweets you find in many cafés. Out of fresh ingredients they are made by hand and as you can tell, with a lot of love. Which kind of cupcakes they have varies every day. So if you eat one there the other day that you really liked, you might not find it again next time you visit. But let me tell you: there is always something new and delicious to try. From Kinder Bueno, over Red Velvet to the typical regional Crema Catalana; there are many sweet temptations at Cup & Cake.
