The George Payne Irish bar is an Irish pub located in Plaza Urquinaona and is very close to the centre of Barcelona - less than a 2 minute walk. As well as being very well located, it's very big with a large variety of beers and cocktails.
It's an enormous establishment and nicely furnished where, for some special reason, all the foreigners in Barcelona go. The menu is in English so that everyone can understand it.
One of the best things about this bar is that they throw different events almost everyday. I recommend going on Mondays because they hold a Beer Pong competition; there are few places in Barcelona where it's possible to join in with something like this. There is also a dartboard.
Oh, and each Thursday, from 9pm, they have karaoke!
There are giant plasma screen TV's that they use to show NBA matches, so basketball lovers definitely can't resist!
The only issue is the price of drinks... The bar is a little pricey, my recommendation: go in a group and order a bucket of Heineken, you'll get 5 bottles worth for 12€.
It seemed a great place to me to spend a bit of time with some friends or to make some new friends. I hope you enjoy it and if you know someone who is going, you must tell them about your experience.
