This avenue is the most international place in Lisbon. Here you can find so many different nationalities: Turkish, Nepalese, Bangladesh, Pakistan, India, China, and the same goes for African countries. If you wish to find something unusual and you can not find it in regular stores or supermarkets, come to this avenue.
Restaurants are amazingly varied. Many different gastronomies are present. One of the most well known and also always full is a restaurant called "Ramiro". It offers typical Portuguese seafood. There is always a big line to lunch or dine in this one so go for an early meal.
On the other hand, you can just as quickly find a clandestine chinese restaurant that is really cheap. The funny thing is that you go to the bathroom and find the owner's toothbrush and shaving brush right next to the washbasin because the restaurant is his home!
Really, this avenue has everything, and is near to other spots, such as Graça, Mouraria and Martim Moniz. It is worth a visit! I usually bike and walk through it.
