Lunch at No. 11 Pimlico Road
If you ever find yourself in London and are wondering where to go for lunch you should definitely check out No. 11 Pimlico Road. This awesome venue is an independent restaurant and bar located in the heart of Chelsea. I had been here once before for some tea with my mother however this place really left an impression on me and I was sure to return to try out their wonderful selection of food.
I fell in love with the restaurant’s interior. The décor is contemporary and chic, creating a very luxurious and calming atmosphere. This place is perfect for breakfast and lunch with your friends or an evening glass of wine.
We were seated by the window. One of the things I love about this place is that it had such a vast seating area that it never appears too crowded, therefore it is quite spacious and private.
We were so hungry and unfortunately my friend was on her lunch break so we had limited time, so we decided to dive straight into our mains. Whilst my friend chose lemon and garlic marinated chicken breast I decided to go for something rustic like a charcuterie board.
Whilst we waited for the food they filled up our glasses with cucumber water, which I found super refreshing and an awesome feature. On the drinks menu they have a very interesting selection of cocktails they have divided between “Old Fashioned” and “House Classics”. Even though the classic Bloody Mary or Pineapple and Sage mojito couple perfectly with food, I would definitely check out some of their more unique cocktails, such as Gingerbread Manhattan (Rittenhouse Rye, Noilly Pratt, whiskey bitters & house made gingerbread syrup) and Raspberry Vieux Carré (Rittenhouse Rye, Maxim Trijol VSOP, house made raspberry & pomegranate syrup).
When the food finally arrived we could not wait to tuck in. My friend’s garlic chicken looked divine, it was sat on a bed of barley and sundried tomato risotto and mine came with a beautifully toasted loaf of bread, a pile of cured meats, house made roast ham and caponata. The hams tasted so fresh and the caponata was really bursting with flavor. Other things that interested me from the menu was the “Slow cooked pork belly with Chorizo and black bean stew”, and the “Daube of beef with parsnip mash and crispy shallots”.
The staff at Pimlico No. 11 is very kind and efficient. They are always there when you need something and when you ask for the bill they are super quick.
No. 11 also offers the possibility to host private events on its top floor. The events range from drinks receptions to birthdays, photo-shoots to press launches and book signings to filming locations.
