Sir John Soane's Museum

Published by flag-pt Carolina Mesquita — 12 years ago

A hidden gem in the city, this museum is nothing like the big ones but it amazed me. Sir John Soane, and famous architect, left it to state in the condition nothing would be changed. And when he meant nothing, electricity was also excluded! So you can imagine, going through a room with Egyptian Sarcophagus, Canaletto pieces and more than 20000 works of art only lit by candles! I went around 3pm in December and so there was no sunlight at all. One of the most magic moments in London for me.
