The world's best gay nightclub

Party Hard is synonymous with HEAVEN LONDON. Classed as the world's best nightclub, this club has it's variations spread out over London (like G-A-Y bar) and in other British cities, such as Manchester.

I am lucky to have many gay friends who had spoken to me about this club before, and I was always curious to go because although I don't feel I identify with this kind of sexuality, I certainly enjoy the gay party atmosphere and above all, the type of music they put on in these clubs. The opportunity to go there for the first time arose searching for somewhere to go on New Years Eve, seeing as our plan consisted in seeing Big Ben's fireworks and the London Eye and going out to party after.

Things were complicated as entry to the best nightclubs doesn't get lower than 50 pounds and we didn't find any that shut later than 3am especially because if we hoped to see the fireworks, we would barely be able to enjoy the party if it shut so early (Us Spanish people find it hard to get used to British customs).

Once in London, we found ourselves in a spot of trouble because we didn't have a plan for after the fire works yet. This was until the purest of coincidences; by visiting my favourite British singers website (Alexandra Burke) in order to see if (with any luck) she had any events on in London during the time that I was there. I discovered that she was going to sing on New Year's Eve in this club, which I had heard so much about...

My eyes couldn't believe what they were reading. I checked the price of entry (17 pounds), the closing time (5am) and the location of the premises (metro Charing Cross, very close to Westminster and the Big Ben) and I know that it was my lucky day. It was clear as day: good music, a reasonable price, late closing hour and perfectly located to see the fireworks and to go and party afterwards. I told my friends, crossing my fingers for it to seem like the best option to them and despite the fact they weren't originally attracted to the idea of going to a gay bar, they agreed. It was our best option.

31st of December, 2014. London.

It was just a few hours away from bidding farewell to a year which for me personally, has been I N C R E D I B L E. It was a promising night. After the fireworks (an incredible experience, there are no words for the magic which can be seen from the London rooftops), we headed towards the club.

I have to say that gaining access to it was extremely complicated and there was a lot of security from the authorities. To the the complications of walking amongst thousands of people and being able to leave the tide of humans gathered in the Westminster area, you have to add the cut off streets, fences and the excessive security. The street to gain access to the clubs was one of those cut off and the police asked for the tickets with their corresponding wristbands to allow entry. There was a group of boys with their tickets next to us who weren't permitted access to the street. We don't know what the reasoning was (according to security they were apparently very drunk, which to me they didn't seem at all... ). My friend and I were shaking because we were scared that we wouldn't be allowed to pass through either. However this was not the case and we entered without a problem. We found the club at the end of the road and it was located on the ground floor of a building. In order to enter, there was even a security check. Impressed with the display they had put on, we passed through the control, stopped so they could search our bags and pat us down, and finally entered.

Once inside, we took off our coats and ordered our first drinks to the rhythm of Crazy in Love. It surprised me that it wasn't too expensive (around 5 pounds) and we went to check out our surroundings. Just as I have been told, it was completely my sort of music: POP and R&B, being especially centred around songs by American or British divas. It has two floors and the majority is concentrated in the ground floor as it is the bigger and where the stage is located - on which singers as big as Jessie J, Lady Gaga or Leona Lewis have played. The above floor is smaller and somewhat quieter. There is a bar there too, as well as chairs to relax on or for those who don't like dancing too much. After being on the above floor for a while and dancing to a few songs by Beyonce (our favourite singer), we decided to go down to keep an eye out for when the turn of events would start.

The first to go on was Katy B, an English singer-songwriter who I've the pleasure of hearing before but who I rather liked. She reminded my friend of a Beyonce dancer that she likes a lot. However, I was anxious to see Alexandra Burke. After shouting, applause and ovation from those present, she waved goodbye after having sung around approximately 7 songs.

We agreed to order more drinks and danced whilst observing our surroundings. There were honestly more heterosexuals than I expected. We spend hours dancing and drinking to my favourite music until I asked my friend if we could gather towards the stage because I wanted to see Alex from as close up as possible.

The time came for her performance and my eyes glistened from the excitement and emotion from seeing her for the first (but not the last) time. Her performance was fantastic and I have a thousand more adjectives to describe it, but this is another matter. My friend, who didn't have the pleasure of having heard of her, classified her as the 'British Beyonce'.

Once she'd finished singing her best dance hits like 'Bad Boys', 'All Night Long', 'Elephant' and her legendary version of 'I Wanna Dance with Somebody' by Whitney Houston, she retired from the stage with a bouquet of flours and the sensation of it having been one of the best New Year's Eves of my life arose.

We stayed a while longer and at around 4. 30am, we decided to leave to be able to sleep a little before what we were waiting for the following morning: The 'New Year's Day Parade'.
