One of the campuses of the University of Murcia is located right in the middle of the capital of the Region of Murcia. It is known as "La Merced" campus, and it can be found a few metres away from the historic town centre of the region. Its location allows the students to access both the student bar areas that have a large student vibe, as well as the Cathedral Plaza and the Plaza de Santo Domingo. These are all very well-known locations by all Murcianos (people from Murcia) and foreigners alike, due to their cultural and natural beauty.

The campus vicinity consists of several buildings of great antiquity but great charm at the same time. The central building is "Faculty of Arts and Humanities" where classes from various degrees are taught, for example: Hispanic Studies, English Literature, Classics, History of Art... All these degrees take place in this building that is made up of three floors. Students interact with each other in the corridors, whether they are from the same faculty or a different one, which allows them to meet new people and make many friends.

On each floor there is a secretary, in the case that you want to know which class is being taught in which classroom, just ask the receptionist girl who will be very happy to answer your questions and help you. In these department buildings, the students can also use their student card to borrow chargers or computers to take notes in class, as long as they return the items when the class is over.

On the ground floor of this building the cantine is located, an place where young people can buy food and drinks, many students spend many hours studying and in classes in this faculty and need the strength to carry out all their activities, so here students can eat at large tables and debates take place with hot and appetising coffees.

Here there is food every day except weekends, the "daily meal" is made, which is a meal made of three courses that the student can choose from, main course or starter, salad and dessert. This is also where students who do not feel like going to a class go and prefer to go to breakfast, have some coffee with friends or even play cards (the famous university poker).

We have talked about this building where they teach classes from various degrees, but... Where do the teachers have their offices? Well, each teacher has their office where the teachers do their work, prepare exams or meetings and solve problems for the students who go to visit them. These teachers' classrooms are located in another building with more floors than the previous one. In this building the reception has row of tables where the teachers leave sheets with the exam results of each student written down on them.

But these are not the only degrees that are taught in this faculty, they also do a "Degree in Spanish Law", which is a degree that is in high demand from the new records. There are a large number of people who study this degree and therefore need to have a unique building to have their classes. It is the most beautiful building on the entire campus and also the one that the Erasmus students like best, with an interior courtyard full of well-kept pine trees, accompanied by an old well in the centre.

The offices of all the law professors are also located in this building, but there are offices often examinations that also take place in these offices. There is an exclusive library in this building for law students, although access is not restricted from any other student in another degree faculty, even though the books that are lent there are exclusive to the law faculty.

In addition to this library, there is another building on the campus that is the library to which the rest of the degrees go, it is called "Biblioteca Antonio de Nebrija" and has six study floors divided to the right and left of the building. Each floor is dedicated to a different subject: Literature, English, Classics... and depending on the book the student is looking for, he or she will have to enter one floor or another.

This library is widely used by students, especially during the examination period. There are two key months: February and June, during which time the library is never empty. The students in this faculty always have a place to study, since at nine p. m. when the Antonio de Nebrija library closes, a series of study rooms are opened in the building I previously named "Faculty of Arts and Humanities", at night they are opened so that the students can study until late at night, specifically until six o'clock in the morning. All night the university is guarded by two guards who maintain the quiet and proper environment to carry out study.

In this library, students also have access to several computer classrooms, on which he can consult the internet or any other pages that can help, but they must have the "intelligent card" to be able to use them, that is to say, the card that shows that they are a student of the University of Murcia.

Another of the buildings within the campus that stands out is the "Paraninfo", in which commemorative events, theatre plays or any other relevant function in the University take place. It holds a stage and a large number of seats for the comfort of the public. Every week, if not most, there are plays in this assembly hall in which students from all backgrounds take part.

The campus, in turn, is made up with a large number of coffee machines which, it must be said, help the students a great deal when it comes to memorising material. Around these machines there is a row of coloured chairs in which the students sit and have long conversations, it is where they take a break and rest from their studying, since they are always open.

It is important to mention that in the middle of the campus there is a huge tree that is really old. For many weeks of the year there are tents that are placed here, they are called the thematic weeks. For example, there are book weeks and other weeks where there are tents in favour of a certain cause. These tents are placed around the tree so that the students can go and see them or buy something if they are selling some products. In the book weeks, the students bring books that they already have read and give them to the collective, then they sell them and if they get some money for the book they give a percentage to the owner.

Finally, we have to mention the secretary's office, a place where a group of receptionists can help you with any problem and are always ready to advise you in case you want to change degrees, subjects or have any doubts about the credits of a subject.
