Republican Bar

The bar República is situated beside the University of Merced (beside the semi-circular baptismal plaza, the so-called left - hand side since it is in front of the principal gate to the University). It is a dark bar with large wooden tables and benches. The music is varied, with everything from Rock to Ska. There are Spanish and English songs. There is a DJ but he is never really behind his computer... at the same time the songs are not very good as they are not mixed by him. They have calimochos (coca - cola + beer) for three euros in large glasses and half a litre of beer in those same glasses. It is good value. It is well-furnished, with photos of Murcia city at the start of the twentieth century.
