Greatest view of Porto
Porto is a very beautiful city with many touristic attractions and many places to visit. The most famous place is Ribeira, the historical center of Porto, from where you can see the Douro River and Vila Nova de Gaia. Nevertheless, my favourite viewpoint of the city is from Jardim do Morro.
It is a garden at the highest point of a hill in Vila Nova de Gaia, reachable by crossing the Luis I bridge. From up there you can see the whole city of Porto, its landscape and also the banks of Douro river in Gaia. It is a stunning view from a characteristic place.
In the garden, you can sit in the grass and admire the view or you could even drink a glass of Porto wine if you wish (because on that side of the river there are many wineshops). It is a romantic place especially at sunset, which is the best time to go.
Location
Right across the Luis I bridge, in its upper part, you will find Jardim do Morro. You can get there by foot either from Ribeia or from Vila Nova de Gaia. Both places are great to visit while walking. You can also get there by subway.
What else to do
Besides admiring the view and enjoying outside, you will find in the garden the Mosteiro da Serra do Pilar, an old Monastery. Really beautiful and with a great view as well. You will find there many temporary exhibitions that you can attend.
If you come to Porto, you shouldn't miss this place!
