University of Porto

Porto is the second biggest city in Portugal and it has the second biggest and best university in the country as well: University of Porto.

With more than a hundred years of tradition, the university is among the 300 best in the world ranking. It is a public university really hard to get in, but you can easily have an erasmus experience there. When I went to Porto I met some people who were studying there and loved it! To do so, you'll have to check if your university has a partnership with University of Porto and if positive, the chances are you can study there too!

Besides studying, the university is a nice place to visit as a tourist. The main building is located in a very central neighbourhood, near to many important monuments such as Igreja do Carmo, Torre dos Clérigos and Livraria Lello.

The university rectory is located in Gomes Teixeira square and it has a beautiful facade. Also, just in front of it you'll find the famous lions fountain, with more than 150 years old - stunning!

At night, the neighbourhood is also a great place for partying, with many bars, restaurants and clubs.
