If you like movies you probably seen or at least heard about Amélie, a film about a parisian girl who sees the world in a colorful and beautiful way. If you never heard of it or never seen it, stop what you're doing and go watch it now!

Paris is definetly a great scenery for filming and if you are in the neighbourhood of Montmartre you'll feel inside the Amelie movie. All colorful and vibrant the cafe where the main character works in the film really exists - and it is a great place for having some coffee, snacks or even some drinks.

The place is called Café des 2 Moulins, or Cafe of Two mills - as a reference to Moulin Rouge, a famous brothel and club in the area, which is also another movie scenery - and it exactly like the film. You can almost see Amelie as a waitress there.

And she actually is there - in the end of the bar there is a poster of the movie. In the bathroom as well, you can find elements used in the filming.

But besides movie references, the cafe is actually a nice place to eat. I recommend the classics: black coffee and nuttella crèpe (you can't leave Paris without eating a chocolate crépe), a french pancake with lots of stuffing. Delicious!

If you're into drinking something alcoholic, after 6 pm, the bar is open and you can enjoy a happy hour there, after all, Montmatre is a bohemic neighbourhood.

Around the café you will find many other bars, pubs, cafes and restaurants, but this one is special because of its movie history. So don't miss it! If you're around Montmartre (and you should be when in Paris, because it's a great place) go to Café des 2 Moulins.

To get there you can get the subway and hop off at Abbesses station (line 12) or Blanche station (line 2). By train, the best option is geting down at Gare du Nord (RER B) and walking your way there, while enjoying the Montmatre surroundings.

In the neighbourhood there are many intresting things to see, such as the Basilica Sacre Coeur, that has a great view of Paris, and the Je t'aime wall. So if you're visiting the city, I recommend going to the church, going pass the wall and then to the Cafe. That way you will get to know Montmatre by foot.
