Hello, everyone!
I hope each and every one of you is feeling very well. In our capital we can find amazing and peculiar things that are going to put a smile on our lips. This one is very close to the border of Lima with the beginning of the district of Rimac, where Trujillo Street can be found. This is a road that will take us to explore the next monument that I want to share with you today, because it has something unique in the world as it is considered the smallest church in the world!
So small!

Its unusual size:
The dimensions that this small place has include: 10 meters high, 5 meters wide and barely 12 meters deep, having in total just 50 m2! .
On the other hand, I'll tell you that the Limean tradition tells us that it is as old as the cathedral itself, however the only known records date back to the 17th century.

This small church is also popularly known as “la capilla del puente”, which means "the bridge chapel" in English, and it is not crowded at all. However, if you come during Easter Week, you will find many people who even come and queue up to enter thid religious space.
Their facilities are quite colourful inside. You will find bright colours and an main altarpiece inside, as well as to two small side altarpieces, one of the most visited ones is the San Judas Tadeo altarpiece, who is considered the Patron Saint of Work and the impossible. This church is a clear example that the best things come in small packages! I recommend you enter, so that you can see all the art inside of it, especially the decoration of the vault and the altar.

In order to get to here, you only need to cross the traditional Trujillo bridge which is very close to the Plaza de Armas. .
Finally, note that this place is open every day in the mornings and evenings, except not on Sunday, when it opens only in the mornings. The district of Rimac has many things to offer and this is the best place to start your journey through this traditional colonial district that has remained alive through the years. From here, you can continue your journey to la Alameda de los Descalzos and Paseo de Aguas that have been recently remodelled. So, do not miss the opportunity to explore it!
