Parque de la amistad in Surco

Hello everyone! I hope every one of you is well. In the Surco district, you can find a very interesting place to visit: el Parque de la Amistad (literally the Friendship Park). It was considered the district’s main stronghold.

A great atmosphere to have fun

It is a huge space that is approximately 30,000 square metres. One the main icons you will find in this area is without a doubt the Arco Morisco (Moorish arch), a monument that is found in the park. It is a copy of the one that was originally at the entrance of what is today Avenida Arequipa, which was a gift from Spain to Peru for the centenary of its independence in the year 1924; the original was destroyed.

More than one option

One of the most interesting things about this place, apart from the arch, is its traditional steam train and pedal boats. It is not just a place for kids, but for any one of us to enjoy as well. Take advantage by checking Surco’s tourist calendar which holds activities from time to time in the park, to make it a meeting point within the city of Lima.
