Eating good and healthy food in Madrid

Hello everybody! In this blog, I want to talk to you about my favourite place to eat at in Madrid, as well as it not being very expensive. It is all delicious, it is quite a new food concept which has got popular due to the new "trend" of eating healthily: Honest Greens.

What I like the most

The coolest thing there is the fuschia hummus. The hummus, for those who don't know what it is, it is a puree of chickpeas which usually has a kind of very light brown colour, and here it has a deep fuchsia colour because they have added beetroot, it is so good:

Meats

The meats here are amazing, which is grilled. I ordered a piece of chicken which was made with chipotle, it had a certain spicy touch which was really good: comer-rico-sano-madrid-da1171080c38a0ade. You can choose the side yourself. I chose rice and salad, you can also choose from lentils, quinoa, vegetables, sweet potato and more.

I thought that it would be juicier but it was actually a little dry, I should have had some kind of sauce or ordered the marinated steak which one of my friends tried, which was a lot juicier.

Flavoured water

The drinks were unlimited, except for normal water, but there were different flavours and they had the taps there so that you could refill your glass as much as you wanted.

There were puddings which looked really delicious, but we were too full.

Something new

The sweet potato fries, I don't know what I liked more, the beetroot hummus or those chips. They weren't really chips, they were sweet potatoes which is a potato with a sweet flavour and a more orange colour and they come with delicious sauces, like ketchup and mayonnaise but tastier, they had a really tasty sweet touch. It is a dish to share which you have to order if you go there, for sure.

The set up

The way this place works will shock you a little at the start, but the truth is is that it is quite simple.

The menu doesn't have a big story, the first thing to do is to choose between protein or salad (for the salad, you can add proteins after). And if you choose protein like all of us did (the grilled meat is so good there) after you can choose sauce if you want and two sides, there aren't other options. And well, the hummus and the sweet potatoes as dishes to share.

This place is usually packed, so the day that we went there we had to wait a little, there was a very long queue and it was very busy. Whilst we were waiting, a space became free so we were able to sit there by chance.

Comer rico y sano en Madrid

At first glance, it may seem like there is not a lot of variety, but later when you order, you can see all of the ingredients that they have there and how they cook it, it is a show in itself and it is all very delicious - in addition to being healthy foods that we normally don't eat.
