So if you have heard about a museum in Madrid, you would have probably heard about El Prado or maybe Reina Sofia. Both of them are art museums. And both of them are indeed great places to visit. They have a lot of invaluable art pieces that for art lovers would be just like a dream. Nevertheless, there are other nice museums in Madrid. If you are more into arqueology, human history and evolution; I would definitely recommend you to go to the Museo Arqueológico Nacional.

First of all, it is located just in the middle of the city. It is on the opposite side of the building of the National Library Museum and it is just a 2 minute walk Plaza Colon. If you are taking the Metro or the Cercanias, you can stop at the Recoletos station and the Museum would be just in the other side of the block. There are also a lot of nice places to eat and shop in the sorroundings of the museum.

So, talking about the museum per se, there is a variety of collections of different aspects of the human race. On the first floor you will find a lot of things related to prehistory. In the second floor you´ll find objects and replicas of things that are not from the ancient histoy but are neither classified as modern. Finally, on the third floor we´ll find more recent things. Also, there are temporary exhibitions where you´ll find photography exhibitions or scientific expositions related with the archeology.

Another thing that really impressed me was the history of the museum´s building. First of all, the edification is overwhelming. And the buildind per se was attacked several times during the Franco era.

In this way, I invite you to go and discover this nice museum... doesn´t matter if you´re an archeology fan or not (I didn´t know a thing of archeology). And as prices matters, the museum is totally free for students (ID required).

So... see y´all
