Chinese Noodle House

The title pretty much gives this whole suggestion away, but nonetheless, I would highly recommend "Chinese Noodle House" for their heavenly dumplings. 

Do not let the name throw you off. I know, it's the most creative and doesn't sound the most legit or appetizing, but do not let that stop you from trying one of Sydney's best deals for dumplings, either steamed or fried. 

I love Chinese food and unfortunately, Sydney's CBD is well-known for Chinese restaurants that offer items that are often beyond a student's budget. However, a friend and I stumbled upon a small place at lunch time, which was absolutely packed even with a line outside. I mean, if you see office men and women sacrificing their precious and limited lunch break time, waiting in line for a restaurant, you better believe it's gonna be good. This happens almost everyday so it was definitely a good sign that the food must live up to the queue. 

We strategically planned to be there a bit early for lunch, to see what the hype was all about. Looking at the menu, which has great variety of Chinese regional cuisine, we went for the dumplings (fried) and of course, some fried rice. 

The stuffings for the dumplings are made in house, and that was clear as we could see through the window separating out table and the kitchen, as the chefs prepared them to order.

The dumplings were fantastic. The taste, the texture, the stuffings, everything about them. And the best part, the price. In other restaurants especially in Chinatown and nearby, these would go at a much higher price. I'm not sure of exactly how much we paid, but it was definitely a bargain for the quantity and quality.

Make no mistake, they do have other items on the menu as well, but we were only there to our dumpling fix. This place is a great reminder that with a bit of adventure - and luck - we can find great places to eat for those with a huge appetite, and a reasonable budget.
