A great view, but little else

I always fondly remembered going to the Sydney Tower restaurant, this time we didn't bother, the food quality has been headed downhill over the past few years, its just the view thats worth paying for. So this time we decided to just go to the observation deck, for a stunning 360 view over Sydney. First we were taken into a theatre for a 4D promotional film about Sydney, which was very enjoyable, if a little cheesy, worth watching rather than skipping it though. Then its up the lift to the observation deck, there is plenty of information around to help you determine what you are looking at, at the time we visited there were unfortunately loads of classes of schoolkids about, which were a bit hard to navigate around. There was a small cafe offering drinks and light refreshments, and an overpriced giftshop there to tempt people. There was no time limit on the observation area, however you were bombarded with advertising for the 'Sky Walk' which gets a little irritating. Once you are done, you have to find the exit, which for some reason proved a little tricky, you are then put in a lift, however they do cram you in like sardines on the way down if you unfortunately decide to leave at the same time as one of the school groups. Good thing is that they do give student discount on tickets! It is certainly worth the visit for the view, a great way to see everything that Sydney has to offer.
