One of my favorite places just outside the city’s CBD is Bondi Beach. Do not mistaken Bondi Beach and Bondi Junction as the same place. They are relatively close and do work in favour of each other in terms of transportation, but they’re two very different places.
Bondi Beach is what it sounds like, a beach. But it is not just another beach. It has something special. It has a special view that would take anyone’s breathe away. Rain or shine, the view of the beach could be seen from what we could call the “entrance,” as it sits at a higher point and shines down on the rest of the beach. They are many things one could do while at Bondi Beach.
For a starter, take a lot of pictures from different angles. Take pictures of the beach, its people, and its waters. After taking a satisfactory amount of photos, head over to the famous Bondi Iceberg. The iceberg is a combination of many things. There is a restaurant and cafe that is blessed with a brillant view of the area. Then, there is an outdoor salt-water swimming pool - not really sure how to call it. You really have to be there to see it, but as always I’ll put down some pictures that I had taken doing my numerous outings at the spot.
If you feel adventurous and determined, Bondi Beach is a starting point for the well-known Bondi to Coogee Walk. I have done it myself, and it took a little bit over one hour at a decent pace. It’s a great way to exercise while completely taking in the gorgeous natural surroundings of land and sea. There are things to eat in Coogee too, don’t worry!
If you’re ever hungry, my pick of the bunch would be fish and chips. It just works to the setting if you grab yourself a beautifully battered fish with some salted chips. There are a few places that offer pretty some the same good stuff, but I always got my dose of fish and chips from a shop that has a claim to be one of the best in Sydney, not too sure what year it was. Otherwise, McDonald’s and Hungry Jacks are also in the neighbourhood.
If you’re more into nicer places to eat, Hurricane Grill offers a selection of grilled meats and seafood dishes. The prices are quite high though, compared to my simple fish and chips. There are also plenty of bars to get drinks, and to be honest, bar foods are pretty good too. You can usually get something light like salt and pepper calamari, to wedges with sweet-chilli sauce and sour cream. And there’s nothing better than the breeze that goes to the building when you’re holding a pint of beer or cider.
Bondi Beach is a must-visit if you're ever in Sydney. The best part of all is that everything you see here from the beautiful nature is FREE! For more information on the beauty and attraction of Bondi Beach, check out this helpful link from Sydney's destination website:
