CAFFE CHERRY BEANS | WORLDSQUARE AREA

Published by flag- Oat Sitalasai — 9 years ago

Here’s another spot for cafe lovers and those seeking a space to work and chill in Sydney. I did briefly mentioned “Caffe Cherry Beans” as an alternative to Caffee Tiamo when the latter is too full, however, the word alternative in this case should not be regarded as a bad thing! I will point some aspects as to why I thoroughly enjoyed going to Caffe Cherry Beans.

First thing first, it was literally two minutes from my apartment. For those that live elsewhere, it’s still an excellent location and is near by to so many things. The Pitt Street end with Korean shops and restaurants is just across the cafe. The gym that I used to go to do, Fit n Fast, is 30 seconds away, or if you’re in the area and want to do grocery shopping, Coles is at Worldsquare and that’s just across the street as well. The cafe is right in the corner of Liverpool Street and Pitt Street, which gives it that extra advantage in the view, if you’re into staring out onto the streets and looking as time flies by like I do.

Secondly, it’s very similar to Caffe Tiamo in the sense that it’s another Korean style cafe. I would say that all the staffs were Korean - not sure whether that has changed - and were all really cool and discrete. The main difference for me between Caffe Cherry Beans and Caffe Tiamo is that they don’t serve Green Tea Latte, or Taro Latte here. When I head over to this cafe, I always order their coffee, which is really really good, on every single occasion.

Caffe Cherry Beans also implements the loyalty card system, in which can be obtained for free if you simply ask for one. For every drink or item purchased, the card will get hole-punched to illustrate that you’ve gained points. So it was something like for every ten points you get a free drink or something like that. It is free to get and it’s super easy to get points and free stuff so I would definitely recommend you getting one.

Another reason as to why I enjoyed going to this place while I was in Sydney is because there’s a sense of personal space here. I usually went there with my computer to study or get some work done (usually ended up on youtube and facebook) and it’s definitely a very work-friendly cafe. You could literally order one drink and stay for two hours or more if you wish. The tables towards the back wall where the toilet is is where you could find two power sockets. The table at the corner there, next to the cupboard was my spot. It’s THE spot if you want to take a seat and have your laptop with you. The internet is also quite fast and consistent. You could stream a sports game and do whatever you need to do; that’s how good it was. Be sure you ask for the password from one of the staffs since they tend to change it once in a while just to make things fun.

If you’re there with a few friends, any table by the window would do. This one is one my favorite since it has a view of the streets and has that awesome-cozy-home-like feeling to it. The whole cafe does actually. It’s a very casual cafe and a place that’s perfect after a long day at work or at school. The prices for drinks and food are also reasonable given the quality you get. Coming back to this topic, I should add that they make really good milkshakes here. For those of you out there that don’t drink coffee, do go for the milkshakes. Yes I know they put add ice cream and milk and all the fatty stuff, but like I said, it’s awesome and the gym I went to is literally thirty steps away. Jokes aside, I would strongly recommend this place for the great value of its items, the service, and most importantly, the location and the ambience of the place.

There cafe does get busier towards the evening period since that’s when most people finish school and work, so keep that in mind with the number of people you’re going with and the time of the day. Otherwise, you will be in safe hands if you fall back on Caffe Tiamo that I also recommended. Another alternative that is also really good but is slightly more expensive is also on Pitt Street, in fact just right across Caffe Tiamo, another Korean style cafe called Oliver Brown or something like that. This place specialises in cold drinks, like milkshakes of great variety and frappes. They also have a decent selection of desserts and sweets and the staffs are also really cool. Like I said, Oliver Brown that bit more expensive than its two neighbors, but once you’re already in the area and there really isn’t any space in the two other cafes, you might as well save them for another day and try out this one. In other words, there’s always a cafe with space to cater for you! If you happen to live further out of this area and want to go to Caffe Cherry Beans, you could perhaps try them in other locations! Below are the two links to the websites from Caffe Cherry Beans and Oliver Brown.
