A small club made of ice!

Prague's Ice Club is found inside a kind of small shopping arcade that is just before you come to Carlos bridge. You will recognise the entrance to the bar because there's a polar bear in the doorway opposite some souvenir shops.

The Ice Club is a kind of bar made of ice. There are more in other cities (Amsterdam, Madrid, Rome... ) because it's "fashionable" to go to the Ice bar, but I've only been to the one in Prague.

The first impression is quite good. I liked it because it was like a kind of mini club made of ice. On entry, there is a space with an armchair made of ice, a kind of ice sculpture that you can put your face in so you look like an ice DJ, and a sculpture of the silhouette of a woman on a corner. Next to the stairs, there were some gigantic ice bottles advertising Absolut Vodka; there was also a lot of advertising for Heineken on the walls, at the bar and on this block.

If you go down the stairs, there is another part of the bar with a sofa made of ice and at the bottom of the stairs there was a bar with a barman. At the other bar, there was another sculpture of a woman with a bottle in her hand and it was as if she was pouring liquid out, but liquid made of ice, so we took a photo with her as if we were drinking from the bottle.

The best memory that I have of the bar is when we had our drinks. You can choose from a spirit and mixer or a beer. We ordered a vodka with grenadine or something like that (there's not a lot to choose from) which were served in some frozen cubed glasses and when we finished our drinks, we had to throw the glass on the floor and break it. The idea of it amused me a bit because, of course, when you drink from a glass made of ice, you have to drink it very fast - yet the ice still managed to "burn" me. I threw my glass on the floor with all my strength and it was honestly very fun! You can release all your stress hahaha. The barman took a video for us whilst we drank our drinks and broke our glasses, so we have a memory which will last forever. We laughed so much and I wanted to share the experience with my fellow Erasmus students.

First we bought our tickets and they told us what time the next entrance time was, people went into the bar in small groups every 25 minutes, since after only 20 minutes inside, according to the bar's rules, you can't put up with the cold any longer. Truthfully, I don't know, because after we had been in there for 15 minutes, the cold was noticeably worse but it was still bearable, but what if being in such a small place and having enjoyed everything, the cold started to become more noticeable and I didn't feel like touching anything made of ice that I had already touched before, nor did I feel like sitting in any of the seats, so I think that 20 minutes inside is perfect.

Entry to the bar cost us 8€ including the drink. Furthermore, they give you a kind of silver raincoat and they give you some gloves that are really small but they do stretch and they protect your hands from the cold quite well; at first, I thought that they had made a mistake and given me children's gloves. They're not very flattering, but the important thing is that they protect you from the cold.

I have to clarify that it's not an actual club but a recreation of a mini club. The normal thing to do is take photos, laugh and not much else. Although the barman, the drink and the music made the atmosphere a lot better and there was also a moment when we danced a little, whilst we were pretending to be the DJ, hahaha.
