Where and how to go?
Spend one of your days in Prague visiting the surroundings! Just 1 hour away from the capital of Czech Republic you can visit this huge castle with more than 600 years in Karlštejn! You can take a train to the city with the same name and from the train station you can walk easily to the castle.
This castle was the home of the King of Bohemia, Charles IV, and his son Wenceslclas IV, it was like his safe place in a quite area, where he could keep all his royal treasures and imperial crown jewels. Over the years the castle has been rebuilt through different styles to avoid degradation, it maintains the actual appearence since 19th century.
It's a great place for a one day trip outside Prague and its famous atractions, enjoy the nature around the castle and the cosy village closeby.

After visiting the castle you can also visit the Czech Grand Canyon! This maybe be a little dissapointing if people tell you that you will see huge lagoons filled with water, like they told me. It's not like that, but it has its beauty and its worth the trail! the walk there is not too extensive and the view is amazing! Little and Big America are crystal clear water reservoirs and in the middle of them there is a smaller one called Mexico. Years ago it was possible to go for a swim there, now you can "only" enjoy the view.
