The Dancing House building is situated in the Praha 2 (Prague 2) district next to the Vltava river.

Dancing House

This building is quite famous for its shape. Simply, it is crooked and bent in the middle, and it’s for this reason that they call it the “Dancing House”. Originally, it was called “Fred and Ginger” (after the famous dancers Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers) because the building, along with the one next to it, look like a pair of dancers. Truthfully, the building stands out from the rest in the city, given that the overall architectural style in Prague is not particularly modern. However, there are occasions where finding buildings like these give visits to a new city a special touch, and this is no exception.

Construction works on the building finished in 1996, and its architecture style is known as deconstructivist. The Dancing House was designed by Vlado Milunic and Frank Gehry.

Dancing House

The building has six floors of office space, as well as a restaurant. At night, the Dancing House also looks beautiful with all the lights turned on.

My friends and I took some photos in front of the building as if we were actually dancing, hahaha!
