Castillo Viejo
It is very easy nowadays to decide about the place where you can eat well, pay little, listen to good music and enjoy an excellent atmosphere.
In Granada, there are a lot of pubs and restaurants which make the city even more interesting. Tourists love the streets, squares, churches, the sun but it is more important to have a nice place where you can spend a few hours admiring traditions and customs from Andalucia.
Since I have arrived here I always eat at El Castillo Viejo. Well not every time but when I am really hungry and thirsty I go there. It is an unusual pub with a lot of war figures, guns and swords, it is painted in a lot of colours so it is full of life and also the music is very relaxing.
What I like about this place is that the tapas are very big and you can choose from 25 sorts of them. With every drink you get a free tapas just for 2 euros. The bartenders are very nice, they always make jokes and make you feel comfortable even if you are a stranger.
What I don't like about this place is that it is always crowded. There are evenings when you cannot find a place to sit and enjoy a drink. This is because everyone likes that pub!
As an Erasmus student you have to go there and meet some other people that are in the same situation as you are. For example, first time I went there I met a Romanian Erasmus girl. Outside the El Castillo Viejo there was a musical band of gypsis who were playing some interesting music and the people just stop for a minute and enjoy the sounds and the dance.
Situated very close to the Plaza Nueva Castillo Viejo is a place where you have to go with your friends at least ones!
