Near the foothills of the Sierra Morena mountain range, you will find the rural village El Altico, which became one of the new settlements in Andalusia after the King Carlos III ordered its colonisation in 1767. It is in the province of Jaén about 1. 5 miles away from the exit 280 in the motorway/road Autovía de Andalucía.

Alojamientos Colonos offers great cultural and leisure activities to help customers delve/get into the lives of the first village settlers. Although the rural complex has been remodeled, it still keeps the original stone and wood houses of the colony. (, made of stone and wood of the period). There you will find three completely independent houses named after some ancestors that inhabited the place:

•  María Fiscer house: it has capacity for 9 people, although it can be rented as two independent houses with capacity for 4 and 5 people respectively. The first one has two double bedrooms and a bathroom. The second one, called Pajar de Thürriegel, has a triple bedroom, a double bedroom and a bathroom.

•  Felipe Mitelbrun house: it has capacity for 5 people and it is equipped with a triple bedroom, a double bedroom and a bathroom.
•  Margarita Ripoll house: it has capacity for 4 people and it is equipped with a double bedroom, a bedroom with double bed and a bathroom. All of these make up the Colonos complex with maximum capacity of 18 people. The complex also offers a house adapted for the elders and the disabled, and for the children, a crib and a playpen.

From the Altico, located on a small hill, you will see a great sea of green olive trees that spreads out as far as the eye can see, as well as the mountains of Sierra Morena, just 500metres away from our houses. Both sites will provide you a haven of peace andcalmness that will make you recall the landscape with real pleasure.

In front of the Colonos complex, there is a recreation area with different types of trees and plants, where they used to thresh cereals in the past. There you will find an incomparable setting: a traditionally stone paved floor, fountains, stone tables and 4 barbecues –one of them equipped to grill a whole lamb in the medieval way. You will also have a big swimming pool to beat the summer heat.

Moreover, you will find an open kitchen called La Taberna, with a beautiful wooden porch decorated with ancient agricultural tools, where you can have your breakfast andchat while enjoying the surroundings. Here you will get the feeling of being in another time.
