The Anne Frank House is a biographical museum dedicated to the life of the young Jewish girl. She lived during the Second World War and being Jewish she had to hide from the German soldiers. The building is located on a canal called the Prinsengracht, in the city centre in Amsterdam, Netherlands. This is a XVII century building, which was built in 1635 by Dirk van Delft.

The museum was opened on 3rd of May, in 1960. This is the 3-rd most visited museum in the Netherlands.

For those, who don’t know, Anne was just a girl, enjoying her life, when suddenly the Second World War began and because she was a Jewish, she had to face all the atrocities that Adolf Hitler imposed to do. She used to hide with her parents and her sister in the building, where her dad used to work. Her dad's friends used to help the Frank's family in providing the food.

Anne kept her diaries all the way till their shelter was discovered. Like everyone else, she was send to the concentration camp all over Europe.

Anne didn't survive the concentration camp. If she only could bear life a little longer...

Her diaries were found on the floor of that building where they were hiding, and where they were found by the Germans. However Anne’s father managed to make it through the concentration camp. He learned that none of his family members were still alive, his friend gave him Anne’s diaries. Two years later, in 1947, he published her diaries. It became very popular among people very quickly and in this way The Diary of Anne Frank was created.
