Leidseplein

Leidseplein or Leiden Square is the main entertainment place in Amsterdam. It is located in the central Amsterdam in the southwest of the Grachtengordel district of the city. It is situated on the crossroads of the Weteringschans, the Marnixstraat, and the Leidsestraat.

The Leidseplein is one of the busiest centres for nightlife in Amsterdam. Historically, the square was the end of the road from Leiden, and served as a parking lot for horse-drawn traffic. Today, modern traffic travels through the square and there are many restaurants and nightclubs around. One of the main things to see and that will amaze you by its architecture is The Stadsschouwburg, a theater, which has a beautiful design.
