The Van Gogh Museum is situated in the Amsterdam's Museum Quarter, Museumplein, between the Rijksmuseum and the Stedelijk Museum. The museum entrance is at the Paulus Potterstraat 7. It can be reached by tram number 2 and 5 from the Central Station.

The main building of the museum opened on 3 June 1973 and the design was made by Gerrit Rietveld. Then, in 1999, a wing designed by Kisho Kurosawa was incorporated. Van Gogh Museum's collection is the largest collection of Van Gogh's work in the whole world. There are 200 paintings, 400 drawings, and 700 letters by Vincent Van Gogh.

The entrance fee for adults is 17 euros. And the interesting thing here is that people under 17 can enter the museum free of charge. I think that this is a great opportunity and the best way of encouraging young people to go and see the work of such a genius. If I lived in Amsterdam or near it, or generally in the Netherlands, and I were not seventeen years old yet, I would probably go there many times a year. And, as everyone knows, they do these different exhibitions from time to time, so that it would not be boring and monotonous at all!

Now, according to my opinion, the main question one would ask would be what famous paintings there are in Van Gogh Museum. Well, everybody knows his work "Sunflowers" from 1889. So, here you go! You can admire the painting in Van Gogh Museum, Amsterdam. This is just an incredible feeling, looking at all the great paintings that once you saw in your art books, now in front of you just some centimeters away... amazing!
