Sloterpark

Sloterpark, Amsterdam Nieuw-West

Sometimes it’s nice to get away from the hustle of central Amsterdam. Parks in the city center are often crowded as soon as it’s sunny. If the weather is nice, Sloterpark is a good place to hang out, without doing much other than walking, having a coffee or a beer, discussing by the water or in the grass, or taking pictures with the big letters "AMSTERDAM" (a classic).

Located completely to the west of the city, the park is easy to access but you have to be a little patient (40 minutes by tram line 13 from Centraal Station). There is not much nearby but you can walk around the Sloterplas lake and finish your walk in the park café (or at the coffee shop, on the first floor, it’s up to you! ).

Lovelandfestival

Loveland Festival is also held in this park every year. I’ve never done this festival, but it might interest you, I know they bring in DJs and international artists. The line-up for 2017 is available on the festival website: lovelandfestival. The festival takes place on Saturday August 12th, it can be a nice couple of friends!
