Teatime with kameleons
Hello all!
Do You mind if there are animals on tables on which the drinks are supposed to be served? Do You mind if there’s pet-smell in the area? Do You mind if cat meowing and bird tweet mix and result in a quite big noise? Than better stay home.
If You’re not that ‘sensitive’, but open-minded, curious about exotic (and not only) animals and atmosphere, than don’t miss out visiting Zoo Café. Located close to Kálvin square (easily reachable by metro 3, 4, or tram 49), in the heart of the capital city Zoo Café is a great place where I bring every aquintance and friend of mine. And I can prove that it’s a catchy place, because everyone liked it till now. Small and homey, lively but still chill.
While entering, You discover a new dimension, new impulses. 100% visual, auditive, olfactory and gustatory stimulus = life-lasting experience. The place where You can have fun with creatures which You didn’t ever expect to hold in Your hands. The café has 3 and a half rooms with tables, chairs. The place is beautifully decorated, based on rainforest and jungle motifs and patterns, embodying a tropical flavor. There are no pictures on the wall, but aquariums with living beings, there are no flowers in vases, but lots of creatures on the tables, under the tables, between the tables, near the tables, all having more legs than You have. First, let's see some objective infos about the place.
- There are no alcoholic beverages, and smoking is prohibited. But You won’t cry for alcohol when You're having the coolest drinking-company ever. And hot chocolate can be really tasty though.
- The place is always frequented by visitors, so make sure You’ll surely find place, and reserve Yourself a table in time at their website.
- I don’t recommend going to Zoo Café late in the evening (after 8 p. m. ), because the animals get exhausted till the end of the day, and will have less energy for entertaining, and being in the centre of attention.
And here comes the fun part. What do You want to ‘serve’? Giant cat, rabbit, hedgehog, hamster, guinea pig, chinchilla, gecko, snake, parrot, kameleon or many more? The waiter will bring You an animal by Your drink, and he tells the most important informations about how the respective animal can be treated, but these are more basic infos and advices for preventing from any kind of injury or inconvenience. From that on, You have as many time as You want for playing, cuddling, hugging, taking photos (no flash allowed). You can ‘switch animals’ between tables. Give the animal You have to Your neighbor, and get something else to ‘play’ with.
Of course there are animals with more liberty and personality, like the giant cats, which are not always curious about the visitors, and choose to sleep instead entertaining the people, but no worries, You won’t get bored, because the palette is various enough, and there’s always a free animal ready to suprise You.
Be intelligent and respect the animals, and You both gonna enjoy the time spent together.
P. s. : Sorry for the quality of the pictures, I’m not a professional photographer.
