Szimpla bar
Szimpla Kert Bar/Pub was the place where I spent most of my time when I was going out. It's a big bar-pub where you can have all kinds of drinks!
Must try: Szimpla beer and Palinka! It's very cheap, so I think for every student it will be very affordable!
Besides Szimpla, I was going out to a lot of clubs:

Szimpla ruin pub
If you want to meet one of the ruins pubs in Budapest, you have to go to Szimpla Kert. One of the best ones, with a wild decoration, exceptional to go out with your friends and drink some beers or smoke shish.
Great parties where you can meet foreign people and if you start getting hungry, don't worry, they have all good snacks for you!

A new experience each time
That was one of my favourite places to go even on my own during the 2 years that I spent in Budapest. A ruin bar with the most eclectic decoration, every time there I discovered something new that I haven't seen before around the walls or the ceiling. Nice vibe during the afternoon for a coffee or a beer.
Lots of young people and music every night, and my favorite thing is the farmer's market on Sunday morning, awesome home-grown and home-made food with live music, they promote even some charity meals.
