The Melting Pot Hostel

This hostel was reccomended for Erasmus students, and I can see why! At the start of the year it was packed with Erasmus students from all over the world. The hostel had large dorms of 10 beds each, so sleeping could sometimes be an issue with people waking up and coming and going at all hours of the night, but the basic necessities were there. The staff were really friendly and could speak several languages, they helped out lots with reccomending good places to go to drink and eat, as well as providing a roof top bar. The bar provided a great opportunity to meet other Erasmus students who were looking for places to live, or who had already found somewhere. Most people were quite friendly, even if there was a bit of a language barrier at times. The hostel provided Wifi which was really useful for finding places to live and communicate with people who were arriving and yet to arrive. Unfortunately it proved a little difficult to find the first time, and lots of locals didn't know where it was! But once it was found it was in the center of everything, easy walking distance to most places which was great, but obviously as a hostel it had its limitations, there was nowhere to store a whole suitcase securely which was unfortunate, and the lift was broken, although the staff offered to carry suitcases up the stairs. Wouldn't want to stay too long though, a good nights sleep wasn't easy due to the nature of the dorms.
