Teteria de Buda

We were tempted in by a man outside telling us that mojitos were on offer for €3 and that at 11 pm there would be a performance from a very good Egyptian belly dancer, we were sold! Entering the bar there was the very distinctive shisha aroma, with several groups of Spaniards tucked in the corners of the bar on large colourful cushions puffing away on their Shisha pipes.

We settled ourselves down in our own little corner around a table and decided to order some of the €3 mojitos whilst we waited for the belly dancer, the whole bar was decorated with exotic rugs and decorations and fine materials hanging from the ceiling, even the lights were very ornate, all in a very arabic style to compliment the shisha, even the music matched. It was certainly not what we expected from Spain but I have seen several bars like this since I arrived, so they must be popular.

At quater past eleven there was still no sign of the belly dancer, but we decided to stay a little longer as people in Spain hadn't stuck to their time deadlines before, it paid off as we were offered some shisha for free by the barman, and minutes later the belly dancer arrived and slipped into a back room to get changed. She was very entertaining and talented, everyone was clapping along and she was encouraging the people in the bar to get involved and have fun. We only stayed for the first of her performances as we were quite tired, but it would definitely be a bar that we would visit again, the staff were very friendly and the atmosphere was undeniable.
