Ever had a secret place only you and your friends knew about? Somewhere that was like a sanctuary to you, a safe haven to relax and unwind for a while and forget about the hard life of a teenager. Pfttt. Seriously though now that I think about it being a teenager was great; I almost do not want to stop being one. Anyhow, back to the secret spot, this is one our hideout places. We would just get in a car, drive out here and enjoy the serenity of the view and not spend lots of money.

How to get there:
As I mentioned above, the only way to get there is by driving. There is no public transport around that area. You can always use “grab” or get a cab from anywhere. That is if you do not want to drive yourself. We usually went from Ampang point and it would take us around 15 minutes to get there. You could take the LRT “Ampang Line” to Cempaka station and take a cab from there; this also takes around 15 minutes. As you drive up there you can see the food stalls at the junction of “Jalan Hulu Langat” and “Jalan Mulia 2/1”, you can then park your vehicle nearby.

Ampang lookout point used to have a lot of fancy restaurants and it was a must go place a few years ago however the place was closed and shut down in 2012 for some reason and apparently people were very bummed. I do not really know about that in 2012 I couldn’t even go out alone. Anyways so then, there were many food stalls set up around that area. Small little food stalls selling Malaysian traditional foods like “Nasi lemak” “Nasi goreng” and our favorite “Satay” with peanut sauce, which is definitely familiar to many of you guys. Our favorite drinks also incluced “Ice lemon tea” and “milo ice”, both of which are Malaysian signature drinks. There are also Chinese, Indonesian and Indian cuisines, all steps away from one another. The prices are all very cheap the drinks cost less than 1 US dollar while the food costs between 3-6 US dollars. I have never had any food more expensive than this price range to be honest so I guess it's safe to say this is the price range.
The stalls are open every day of the week until 2-3 am usually. Although this may vary in different times of the year. The stalls usually close when there is heavy rainfall, although a few could be open, it's not worth the risk. During the weekend, the stalls are usually open until late and are very packed. Once we had to walk more than 600-700 meters from our car because there was no place to park our car.

The place always brought me lots of joy with their cute little stools where you could sit and have the whole Kuala Lumpur under your feet.
Be sure to check it out if you are looking for a quiet, simple and low budget place to go to.
Cheers
