Some of my favorite stores in Suria KLCC

Published by flag-ir Saba Jalali — 5 years ago

Okay so KLCC is the most touristic shopping center in all Kuala Lumpur and I'm sure you guys are bound to end up in there whenever you travel to Malaysia. And I realized well if this place is this popular; let me also give my super popular opinion on some of my favorite stores here, consider it more like a shopping guide.

1) Lovisa

Category: Jewelry and accessories

Price range: affordable

Okay so Lovisa is my favorite store ever. I made this deal with myself to not spend money on jewelry anymore, and by jewelry I mean earrings and I break my promise every time I set foot into Lovisa, located on the lower ground floor of KLCC shopping mall, Lovisa is a great place to buy costume jewelry, get a gift for your loved ones or just buy lots of jewelry for yourself. About that costume jewelry, they have all these cool 19thcentury styles, like those 1920s feather headbands or those long necklaces. I really love how all their products are a fusion of old and new fashion trends. They also have the best sales ever. Almost 3 to 4 times a year, they have these awesome sales and everything with the exception of the new collections becomes super cheap. They often have deals like buy 3 for 30 ringgits or 5 for 30 ringgits and stuff like that so it's cool to shop with your friends and then split. There are a lot of Lovisa outlets in Kuala Lumpur now, it has become extremely popular but I like the KLCC outlet the most. There are other outlets in Midvalley, Sunway pyramid and many more shopping malls.

2) Vincci

Category: Shoes, hand bags, accessories

Price range: affordable

Vincci is a great brand to buy shoes and sandals you need for your everyday use. The prices are affordable and they sometimes have these mad sales, like one time their shoes became almost half the price for three days and the store was so crowded that you could barely set foot in it, let alone try on any pair of shoes. Most of their shoes are summer shoes and some high heels. Don’t expect to find any boots or sneakers here. Their prices are something between 40 ringgits to 120 ringgits, the newest collections sometimes cost a bit more but that’s essentially it. They also have lots of hand bags although I'm not a big fan of them, they can cost a little bit too much sometimes. There are these Vincci sunglasses that I love, I buy lots of glasses and given vincci’s ones are super cheap, like seriously they cost something like 30 ringgits for two glasses. Once they had sales and each of the sunglasses cost about 10 ringgits, I cannot remember how many I bought, certainly way too much. There is a Vincci store in almost every shopping mall in Kuala Lumpur. There is also a store in Bukit Bintang, a pretty good store actually. Check them out.

3) Uni Qlo

Category: women and men clothing

Price range: affordable, not very cheap

Being a rather more international brand I don’t think Uni Qlo needs much explanation. I love this brand so much. It is a little bit expensive but the quality of the clothing totally makes up for it. Their best products are their winter clothing such as their sweaters and jackets and stuff like that, I bought myself a few cardigans and sweaters from there and man so far they have kept me warm more than all of my other winter clothing combined. Another great product of theirs is their pants, so comfy and they make you look so good. Their men clothing are also good because I know my friends used to shop from there as well. About sales, I actually haven’t seen Uni Qlo having any proper sales in the past 6 years I've been going to this store, their sales are very normal and never a crazy sale, around Christmas you can find some sales. There are so many branches of Uni Qlo in Malaysia; there is one in almost every shopping center. The KLCC branch is located literally in the center of the lower ground floor next to the information booth and the escalators.

4) Sephora

Category: make up, beauty and skin products

Price range: depends on the brand

Okay I know what you guys are thinking like duh there’s a Sephora everywhere even I know that and yes you are right there is one everywhere including one in the shopping center right in front of KLCC (Avenue K), and you can waste your time and go to both (like I did) and you will realize the difference yourself. It's like walking into two different stores; the Avenue K one doesn’t even have half the products. The KLCC one is one of their hugest stores and therefore they have all the products, it makes shopping easier, you walk in, find all the stuff you need, wish they weren’t this expensive and cry about your bank account after leaving the store. Pretty fun, right. I have this thing with no wanting to test the tasters in shops but a lot of people come to Sephora just to do make up or have stuff try products on them. The brands there are diverse and vary accordingly in their price range. I personally love NYX so much, the prices are so just and the quality is great; I specially like their lip sticks, they are so sassy.

5) Stadium

Category: sportswear, sneakers

Price range: depends on the brand, but pretty affordable

Okay stadium is one of those places that go for window shopping, every time I had to meet someone in KLCC and they were late I would go to stadium and just stare at all the beautiful sneakers. They have almost all the brands there, whether is Nike, Puma, Adidas, Vans or Reebok, you’ve got it all. It is much more convenient than going to all the stores separately. I have bought almost all of my sneakers from there and man I do buy a lot of sneakers. Plus they have pretty good sales; they often put their older sneakers up to 60% off which is pretty sweet. The sportswear I don’t know so much, I didn’t usually buy it from them so I can’t give my personal opinion really.

6) Kinokuniya

Category: Books

Price range: expensive, books are generally expensive in Malaysia

Man oh man; Kinokuniya is just the prettiest and best bookstore in all of Malaysia. The diversity and variety of the books is astounding. I adore everything from this bookshop. It is so huge and you can almost find any book ever. All of the books are covered up so you can go to the staff and ask them to open it for you so you can look through or even sit down there and read it. There is always so many people there, sitting down and reading books, the place is so peaceful, no one is gonna disturb you. You can also order any books you can’t find there and provide your contact information so they will call you when it is in stock.

7) Parkson

Category: department store

Price range: depends but pretty affordable

Okay Parkson is basically a shopping center on it's own. It is so huge and complete, that even if you only go here for shopping you can get all the stuff you need in no time. I always buy my perfumes from Parkson because I am super sure of it’s originality. Their makeup section which is basically like a whole floor, is everything, although the brands there are of rather expensive brands you always be sure of it’s quality. I'm not a huge fan of their clothing sections, although they do have a lot of brands with high qualities, I always find their clothing a little out of style, but hey as usual that’s just my personal opinion.

8) ZARA

Category: men and women clothing

Price range: affordable

Okay again I'm sure you guys are like nice one, there is a ZARA in every corner and yes that is true but the KLCC ZARA is super huge and it has two completely different stores for men and women. Both of the stores have insane sales, I love it. Specially near the holidays, man oh man, like their raincoats become 200 from 400, that good. I like their shoes but they honestly don’t have such great qualities. Their clothing is of course something else. The men store in KLCC also has some good sales, because I know my brother shops from there during sales. Both the men and the women outlets are located on the lower grand floor both like a hundred meters from each other.

9) Lovely Lace

Category: Home design

Price range: pretty expensive

Okay so this is my mom’s favorite store, every time we go shopping, we’re bound to end up in one of these stores. And I'm always trying to run away because she is gonna take hours just staring at every time item there and then contemplate for another hour about which ones to buy. But apart from my own personal torture, the place is so cute and smells so great, never thought that I’d say that about a store but man that places smells of bubbles and rainbows. They have all these cute statues, cute lamps, cute teddy bears, cute frames, cute candles which also smell great and about 100 other cute stuff that I'm not gonna name. Seriously though make sure you do check this place out, don’t take your mom there though you are never getting out.

10) Bershka

Category: women and men clothing

Price range: affordable

I realized almost all these have their price range marked as affordable; it's occurring to me that I only shop at affordable stores. Anyways saved the best for last, Bershka is definitely one of my favorite brands ever. I have a pair of pants I bought from Bershka and I literally wear them with everything and I mean everything, and they’re green man they don’t even match half of my clothes. Bershka has amazing sales; they are almost too good to be true. There is just so much on sale that you wanna buy all. Plus the quality of their products speaks for itself. Bershka doesn’t have many stores in Kuala Lumpur I only know of two, the one in Midvalley and the one here and to be honest both are equally good.
