Great amusement and water park
As one of Asia’s top leading attractions, this place is a “must go to” in Kuala Lumpur. A place where all family members can enjoy equally is quite rare to come by. I personally love Sunway lagoon even though it's expensive admissions ticket and lack of student discount did make me go broke a couple of times, I never once regretted it. Everyone needs some adrenaline rush once in a while and with Genting highland´s theme park closed (They are renovating it into a better one); Sunway lagoon is the next best option. Sunway lagoon is basically a “Multi Park”, their words not mine. Before going there I only thought it was a water park but it was more than that, it's an amusement park. Although I still say that the water park is the best part of the whole place.
(One of the pools in Sunway Lagoon, look how happy everyone is).
Sunway lagoon’s slogan is “your best day ever”, I'm not really sure how true that is but I would say it's a pretty good day, not the best but yeah pretty good; Especially if you go with your friends which makes the whole thing even more fun. Now the attractions of the park include a water park, a zoo, a scream park, an amusement park, an extreme park and lastly a Nickelodeon lost lagoon. I will get into details about all of these in a bit.
How To Get There:
Sunway lagoon complex is located in Petaling Jaya, Kuala Lumpur. The complex is located next to Sunway Pyramid mall and nearby Sunway College and university, which is where I used to study my pre university program. Anyways that being said, I have tried almost every way of getting there and I’ll let you guys know how to get there the fastest. Okay, so from anywhere you get on the LRT and search for “Pasar Seni” station and get off there. I usually got on from Ampang Park and went to Pasar Seni. Then there, come out of the LRT station and go down the stairs, exactly there is a bus station, you can see a lot of different buses, the names of the buses recently changed so ask around from the drivers and see which bus goes to “Sunway Pyramid”. The bus ticket is about 3 ringgits and it takes about 35-40 minutes to get to sunway pyramid. Once there get off the bus and ask for the “Sunway lagoon entrance”, it's about a 2-3 minute walk from the bus station.
One thing I realized is that I usually talk about how to get somewhere but not how to go back from that place. That is usually because you can go back the same way you came. Not in this case so let me tell you guys how to go back. In front of sunway pyramid there is a bridge. You pass the bridge and on the other side of the street you wait for buses. Ask the bus drivers if they go to “KL sentral” or “Pasar Seni” if you get on them and get off at the respective station, both these stations have LRT so you can use the LRT to go anywhere you want.

(You guys should also take the same bus).

Description and Experiences:
Sunway lagoon constantly changes their ticket prices, so for updated information make sure you check out their website which I left for you guys. As of today the admission ticket for adults above 12 years old is 150 ringgits, a little bit pricy I know. For children below 12 years old and seniors above 60 years old the ticket price is 120 ringgits. The website sometimes has some special promotions so I guess check them out before heading down there. The park opens from 10 am to 5 pm. So go there early before the entrance gets over crowded, like sometime before 10, so you have time to get in and change before the park opens.
(Entrance of the park, pretty cool right)
We went during the weekend and man, that was a big mistake. The park was over crowded, to the point we had to stay in lines for half an hour at least, for each of the rides. There are a few things I have some complaints about but aside from that, this place is full of fun and joy for every age group. There is a no outside food or policy which is a little bit bumming, especially given that the food inside of the park is almost twice the price. There is also the extra cost of having to pay additionally for some rides. Given the entrance ticket is already kinda expensive I found this a little bit outrageous. Okay, so enough of my never ending complaints; let’s get to the park descriptions.
The Water Park:
Obviously the water park was my favorite. The first time I went to sunway lagoon it was super crowded and I ended up wasting most of my day waiting in queues. However the times after that I got to enjoy the place fully. Among one of my favorite rides is the “Vuvuzela” water slide, apparently one of the finest in the world. The line is always super crowded for this one; it took me about 45 minutes. I loved it though, the excitement was overwhelming. My other favorite rides were the other waterslides like the “Congo Challenge” and “Cameroon Climb”.
Apart from the rides, the wave pool is one of the most famous sights of Sunway lagoon, the sandy beaches making you feel like you are in an actual beach, make the experience even better. Oh speaking of most famous sights, I almost forgot about the huge suspension bridge there, oh man that is really cool and stunning. The place is perfect for posing and taking pictures, they also offer those zip line services where you can get attached to a long zip line and slide down. That is one crazy experience, I really suggest doing it. The cool thing is that when you are sliding down, everyone at the swimming pool starts splashing water on you and it's all really fun.
(The long zip line, freaking cool)
The Zoo or Wildlife Park:
I'm not a big fan of zoos. I generally hate to see animals being held captive. But letting go of that, the wildlife park isn’t that amusing. They have these really beautiful “Bengali tigers” that are so majestic that you could look at them all day. There are also white lions, another beautiful and powerful set of animals. Among other animals you could find snakes, monkeys and birds. You can also take pictures with the birds having them sit on your shoulder and all. That’s rather cool for kids I guess.
The Scream Park:
The scream park which is the first park you see when you step inside of sunway lagoon, has different activities every time. I really did not enjoy this part of the park, I found it boring and not amusing at all. But I guess that’s just my opinion. I checked their website and now they are having this ghost busters live adventure, I really don’t know what it's about. My point is that their programs change all the time, hopefully for the better.

The Extreme Park:
Perfect for all the “Adrenaline junkies” as the website says and I couldn’t agree more. I definitely enjoyed this part of the park; it was full of sheer excitement. I loved it. My absolute favorite was the “G-Force X”, gosh the thrill of it was just amazing. It is literally by all words “extreme”. There is also bungee jumping and go kart, which are nothing unique but are still pretty fun. Don’t miss out on this park, it is amazing, just amazing.
Okay I think I'm gonna stop here, before I spoil every detail of everything. I really do hope you find my experiences insightful and true enough. Don’t miss out on Sunway lagoon, make sure you have time for this amazing adventure.
Hope you guys enjoyed this piece.
Cheers.
