The first time I looked at a menu for Tahin, my jaw almost dropped open. Every food item listed, from the falafels to the page full of hummus options, looked like food from heaven. I am a vegan, so eating out sometimes becomes quite a chore. However, when I noticed that Tahin has not one, but two vegan menu options (a full meal that includes several side dishes), I became a loyal customer.
Tahin is a beautiful cafe to sit in, with a clean, bright, and open interior with white tiled walls and a large open food-prep area where you can watch the chef at work. During the warm months, and even during the winter if you are brave, seating spills out onto the sidewalks. You can sit and watch the other students go by. The serving staff and chefs are very friendly and are always ready to do whatever they can to give you a wonderful experience.
If you are craving food from Tahin, but don't want to leave your bed (this happens to me often), you can directly call them and order food right to your door, or you can use yemeksepeti.com. Even the way they package food makes it look beautiful on your kitchen table.
My favorite dishes so far include: the Falafel Salad (pictured above), Lebanese Vegan Menu 1 (pictured at the beginning of this post), and the basic hummus. Their mint lemonade is also a taste of summer.
If you are not located in Rumelihisarustu, there are also locations of Tahin in Moda and Karakoy.
Enjoy! Afiyet olsun!
