Social beach with lot of things to do

Published by flag-gb aimee pye — 6 years ago

Malagueta beach is probably more suited to the younger generation rather than for people looking for some place to relax.

During summer time it is a very lively place filled by people and things to do, the beach is lined by small restaurants serving delicious fresh fish platters and tasty seafood paellas.

There are parks to play placed in various places along the beach for parents to take their children as well as outdoor gyms if you want to work out with a great view on the sea. Malagueta beach is a great place to hang out at night time, people often hold their own parties along the beach.

It is also a good spot for fishing, many fishermen visit the beach at night time.

Malagueta beach has a lot to offer, however I found that the entrance to the sea had too many stones for me as I prefer more sandy beaches. For anyone who has the same issue or prefers a quieter beach scene, I recommend El Palo beach which is not far from Malagueta. El Palo Beach can be reached via the number 11 bus which runs frequently from the main bus stops at Alameda principal in the centre. The bus fare is around 1. 20 euro and the journey takes around 15 minutes.

La Malagueta

The thing which influenced me in my Erasmus decision was the beach. It's always the thing I like the most, buy unfortunately I don't have one ten metres away from my house.

La Malagueta

La Malagueta surprised me. Most of all because of those enormous letters which always tried to tempt me into spending a few minutes there, even though I had to study for my exams...

La Malagueta

This urban beach isn't ideal, but it's quite spacious, with dark, coarse sand. From there you can contemplate the coast, and it's the perfect place for a walk or to do sports: jogging, cycling, skating, and others.

I spent a few days there in September and it was quite empty, but I'm sure that during the holiday season there are more people there enjoying the sun and the sea.
