Don't worry that picture is edited. Just was playing around with the editing program on my mobile phone.

El Real Alcázar...

What do you want me to say? What am I supposed to tell you now? I mean if in one second you will read my blog you will know that I am in love with this city. The fact that the Alcázar is "just" another ridiculous beautiful place simply underlines the beauty of Sevilla. Just a few weeks ago I was in Granada to see the Alhambra. That place really blew my mind, the stunning sight and the beautiful buildings and gardens were an unique experience. The difference between the Alhambra and the Alcázar in Sevilla is 14 Euros and 300 km. To get to the Alcázar, starting from my apartment i basically have to cross a street, that's it.

The entry is free thanks to the fact that I'm officialy a Sevillan inhabitant since last Friday... Apart from that the entry for students is only 2 or 3 Euros... So it is ideal simply for relax during the free day or even to come and read a book, have a picnic... Did I just suggest picnic? Whatever, forget about it.

You can spend hours in this labyrinth of gardens and courtyards, way to much possibilities to sit down and relax, so why to hurry, right? In fact the courtyards did really remind me of the Alhambra in Granada... You could often see the Muslim influences: oriental decoration everywhere... But also Christian influences like the huge paintings of world maps and how the conquerors thought it was. Even though its almost end of october and the weather was not great at all, there was plenty of folks in there, seems like it is a tourist attraction the whole year.

Very interesting to see: the arabian baths beneath one of the courts. In the end don't forget to actually look at what you are taking in pictures, because you'll do plenty of them. So take your time and enjoy this beautiful place!

As follows - here are a few of the pictures I took with my mobile phone; I really need to buy myself a professional camera. I think I already wrote that somewhere around here, but it is the truth.

The Royal Alcazar of Seville: The union of the beauty and the history.

Published by flag-eg manuel Sola — 5 years ago

The Royal Alcazar of Seville is a set of palaces located in the centre of the city (next to the Cathedral and the Giralda). Its construction started in the Middle Ages. Its palaces combine many styles, from Moorish to Baroque, Gothic and Renaissance. Its large gardens are beautiful and admirable and all these elements make the Royal Alcazar of Seville a place that you must see. You will never get tired of visiting it!

Interesting anecdote: thanks to all these things and the ones that you will be able to admire once you see it yourself, this site of Seville was chosen as a set the fourth season of the Game of Thrones.

Game of Thrones in Sevilla

Translated by flag- Kat Lore — 7 years ago

Are you Game of Thrones fans? Can you hardly await the sixth season premier? Oh well, only a few days remain now, but should you be through with the sixth season and are yearning again for some Game of Thrones atmosphere then simply drive to Sevilla for there awaits you not only the Fiesta, Siesta and southern flair, but one of the filming locations of the famous hit series.

Surely you can still remember prince Oberyn Martell, the guy whose head was smashed in by the Mountain. I will help you with the flashback, this one here:

And can you remember what happened next? I won't start with the spoilers (ups, I already did! ), but anyway his paramour returned back to Dorne afterwards and planned revenge. The house, or better said palace, where she forged her plans was also home to Doran Martell and the rest of the southern band and is in fact a famous palace in Sevilla.

Real Alcazar is the medieval Royal Palace of Sevilla, where the Spanish royal family founded a home. Now the family of House Martell lives there too. They don't really live there, but the palace was used by the creators of the hit series Game of Thrones to film the southernmost land of Westeros, Dorne. Cool, right?

As a student you can visit the Planta Baja, the ground floor and the garden, for only 2 Euro, the normal price for which would amount to 9, 5 Euro. When you wish to visit the Royal Bedroom as well it will cost an additional 4, 5 Euro. I personally found the student prices more than reasonable when you think of everything you can see there. When I visited the Real Alcázar I needed a whole afternoon (4-5 hours) to see everything.

Who knows, maybe you have someone with whom you can sneak around like this pretty couple here:

Are you starting to feel like a short trip to Andalusia? Drop by and take a look because the trip is truly worth it even if you aren't a GoT fan. If you are a fan its naturally worth it even more!

Alcázar of Seville, Spain

Alcázar of Seville, Spain

The Real Alcázar which is one of the best example for Mudéjar architecture, is located near the Cathedral in Seville, Spain. Originally, it was built by the Moorish Muslim king. This place was named as UNESCO world heritage in 1987.

During the early centuries, it was Morrish fortress which represent the Mediterranean culture. Later in 14 centuries, it was expanded in to palace by king Peter by continuing the Islamic architecture. This palace contains gardens, walls and ponds which was influenced by the Arabic designs. Due to the late constructions, this palace was touched by Italian Mannerist style.

Palace has a huge garden with variety of fruit trees, horticultural produce and a wide variety of fragrant flowers. The garden-orchards supplied food for the palace and also provided the aesthetic views to this place. The irrigation channels, runnels, jets, ponds and pools have added an additional beauty to this garden.

When you visit this place, you should buy a ticket but there is an opportunity for you to discover the palace for free if you go there 6. 00 p. m. in the evening since they allow you to visit the palace for free for a one hour. But my advice is to go early around 5 p. m. since the queue is getting too long when it is getting late. If you could enter in the first place then you can save more time to discover every corner of the palace.

It was an amazing experience for me since this architectural design are totally different from the architecture which I have seen in other European countries as well as in Asian countries. While I was walking in the garden I saw peacocks that were walking freely here and there, which made this place so unique and beautiful.
