What memories!
I stumbled across this article as if by magic, and straight away all those unforgettable memories of my time in the area around the Guadalquivir River came bubbling to the surface in my mind. It didn´t matter whether you started at 4 in the afternoon or 8 at night: in the end you always ended up ´hovering´ around the area and finishing up enjoying yourself in a multitude of different places, starting with some tapitas on Calle Betis, until later progressing to one of those places typical of that street with millions of offers, be it on shots, beers or glasses of wine... and without thinking twice about it, going in, meeting and getting to know new people and setting off with them towards the end of the world.
Pretty often, you´d swear and therefore fool yourself that you´d make your way home soon, and that if you were going to go anywhere, it would be to Budha (now called Kudeta). But in the end, the truth inevitably dawned on you, and you ended up either in Disco Boss (which seems to have closed now) or in the dreaded Bandalai, which I never liked. You always ended up going though, if only because at certain times of night they stopped charging you the entry fee and because of the rhythm of Erasmus which you became accustomed to - which always left you wanting more, and which only Erasmus students seem to have.
I hope little has changed since I lived around that area, which was now two and a half years ago. It´s quite a hike to get back there again with the metro out of action and the majority of the buses too. Evenings by the river were fantastic, arguments were an everyday occurrence but in the end everything would end with a smile and another, even more legendary night.
Thanks to Rocío for the article which awakened all these great memories. I hope everything´s going well there.
Best wishes
