To say that Seville is a charming city would be an understatement. In my eyes, it is the jewel of Andalusia. And for this reason... Seville dazzles... Seville amazes... Seville marvels...! I could write hundreds of lines to promote its worth but I'll let you judge for yourselves.

If you're passing through the Andalusian capital, take the time to discover the Real Alcázar and its fabulous gardens.

The Alcázar is a royal palace which, even today, houses the

King of Spain during his stays in Andalusia. It is surrounded by seven hectares of gorgeous gardens. The beauty of the site is such that it is registered as a UNESCO World heritage site.

Stroll at your own pace as every nook and cranny is home to beautiful creations. The mosaics, pavilions, and plant labyrinths will captivate you for hours. Water is also in the spotlight in this green space: fountains, canals and ponds flourish in all four corners.

Enjoy the shade provided by the trees when the temperatures is around 35 degrees. Breathe in the sweet scents of the orange trees. Make the most of those quiet moments by letting yourself be swept away by this oasis of freshness in the heart of the city centre.

Animal lovers, look up to watch the budgies nested in the tree hollows.

For some beautiful shots, go around the peacocks to try and get a nice picture of the feathers! For something more aquatic, head to the main pond to gaze upon the giant carps.

Some practical advice: reserve your ticket in advance online! This will allow you to avoid the long queue in front of the palace doors.

The normal price goes up to 9. 50€ and add another 5€ if you want the benefit of an audio guide. As for student prices (reserved for the under 25's), this will cost 2€ (by presenting proof of identity). This is unless you live in Seville, as in this case, entry is free.

Finally, to avoid the crowds of tourists, visit at the end of the day. In high season, between April and September, the Alcázar closes at 7pm.

So don't hesitate to come and visit this gorgeous palace, and discover the wonders of Seville. However be careful, and consider yourself warned, you will fall in love...
