A doughnut shop, yum!

What do you and Homer Simpson have in common? Don't you see? You both like doughnuts, of course! If that is the case, you'll love Hello Brooklyn.

This is a tiny shop, newly opened next to Hôtel de Ville (metro A or C), close to Crock'n'roll which I've already talked about. And trust me, the expression "size doesn't matter" is really applicable here as this tiny local shop has the paradise of doughnuts: peanut butter, salted caramel, sprinkled Oreos or coconut, Nutella, speculoos... They have every colours and for all tastes. And always made the same day! Frankly, just looking at their website will make you want to lick your lips like Tex Avery. What's more they do deals if you buy 4, so why deprive yourself?

The one I tried was raspberry filling with a raspberry glaze (a bit like Homer's) and I really liked it! Their doughnuts were soft and a good size. My brother's chocolate hazelnut also went down a treat.

If you have a hard time making up your mind, you can always ask them for advice or be tempted by the doughnut of the week

Good to know:

  • Hello Brooklyn rewards your loyalty!
  • Hello Brooklyn can deliver to your house.
  • The shop is also an American grocery store, so you can find almost exclusive products, including Hershey's chocolate (and even Hershey's cookies and cream which is so good... ) and tubs of Ben & Jerry's. Obviously the price is a little higher than in the US due to import fees but it's better than nothing, right?

Tip: if you want a particular doughnut, it's best to go in the morning or call them to put you one aside (if they can do that, I'm not sure). In fact, when we went there to try them there were still a lot of doughnuts but not all the options were available, because as they sell doughnuts made the same day, they prepare them every morning (around 9am) and don't make any more throughout the day.
