Cactus Café is a very friendly coffee shop in the district of Lyon Old Town, close to Saint Paul station. It is easily accessible by public transport, you can take the metro Line D and get off at Vieux Lyon or take the Line A and get off at Hôtel de Ville (then you just have to cross the bridge La Feuillée).
The logo with stylised characters is "Cactus Café" and there is a cowboy at the entrance. Inside there are small tables, a coffee shop of course and there are some tables slightly bigger upstairs. It's usually quite warm.
Despite its location, I like this place a lot because of the music played there, the manager's kindness and the quality of their affordable drinks. They have a more or less classical coctails choice (I like the white Russian cocktail - vodka Kahlua and milk - and tequila sunrise - tequila orange juice and grenadine syrup). If you are more of a beer person, they also offer some choices, but mainly the sweet Leffe Ruby which I love. They also prepare special cocktails on request: this is called a "barbare" (beer, cider and a little bit of honey if I'm not mistaken), and to be honest, it's delicious!

Then, if you feel like having a shot, it's only 2 euros in this coffee shop, which is below average in France and particularly in Lyon. Especially because they have some original shots. Indeed, despite the tek paf (tequila with salt and lemon) and other traditional shots, they offer you some shots with funny names, such as "petit chaton", the above mentioned is delicious! My mouth is watering now!).
Of course, you can order some snacks like steak and chips or sandwiches and "tartines" which are very tasty, but the aim is to try all these delicious drinks.
In summary, even though it isn't attractive, I would recommend it, I'm in love with this place, in fact I'm often in this district and I've always had beautiful nights here.
