Eggs with sugar?
Aveiro is a small town with only 80. 000 people but a lot to see. I went there for a few hours when I had my trip to Porto. First I went to a little church which looked pretty cool from the outside, because it were had floor tiles on the exterior wall.
This style can be seen everywhere in Portugal. They place those floor tiles on almost every house. The result is that there are a lot of different colors and the city is not as boring as a city with only white houses.
There is also a small river where you can have a boat trip. I would have done it but I don't really like boats because I get seasick quite quickly. There wasn't enough time anyways. But it was alright not having done it because you can enjoy the river and the colored houses without having to ride the boats.
There is one gastronomic specialty in Aveiro, called "ovos moles". It has a really interesting flavor which I had never tasted before. The outside is like a waffle with sugar glazing, but the inside is a mixture of sugar and eggs. Yes, it sounds weird, it is weird.
They say that either you love it or you hate it. Actually, for me it was quite good. I could eat one or two, but not more because it's too sweet even with the flavor of the egg. But as this is a sweet which is traditional and can only be found in Aveiro, you definitely have to try it!
