Showcase at the Camionneur

Originally a bar, but it's equally a mini concert room to welcome showcases and artists who aren't yet well known. It's because of this one Thursday night, that thanks to places won at Virgin Radio, I could go to listen to the French singer Sidoine and the English Nick Mulvey. The first one was interesting, beautiful to watch and nice to listen to but all the same, I'm not a huge fan of the new French scene. On the other hand, the second was a real discovery. I only knew his hit of the moment title vaguely passing by on the radio, 'curucucu', but he has so much more potential! First of all, for his talent as a guitarist: alone on the stage, he came to play with his pedal to record the sounds live and broadcast them. Next, the sensual thirty-something year old's voice coincides perfectly with the instrument and the universe he represents. He has also succeeded incredibly in reinterpreting one of Bjork's songs. At the end of the concert, he proved to be very approachable and nice. That's how we even got a picture with him when we were able to give him our compliments. If he passes by near you, it's an opportunity not to be missed!

Regarding the bar, it organises other mini concerts where the high chairs are set up for the first to arrive. Those late will have to be content stood up (like us). The beer is at 2. 50 and the Picon at 3 euros 50.

The Camionneur is situated in between les Halles and the train station; 10 minutes away from each one.
