Super Salads is part of a healthy eating, fresh food franchise.

How do you get there?

There are an infinite number of buses that pass by Avenida Constituyentes, but, due to their notoriously bad service, it’s better to travel there by taxi or by car. If you choose to travel by car, it’s important for you to know that the restaurant has its own car park. The area in which the restaurant is located is not considered to be within Querétaro city centre, but actually a little towards the outskirts. It’s a bit secluded from Monterrey Tec (ITESM), Universidad Anáhuac and Escuela Bancaria y Comercial (EBC), but it’s much closer to the Universidad Autónoma de Querétaro (UAQ) and the Instituto Tecnológico de Querétaro (ITQ).

What type of food do they serve?

Despite what its name suggests, salads are not the only thing that they serve. The eatery has an endless number of healthy eating options available, like soups, sandwiches, pittas, cakes, paninis, and, of course, their speciality - salads.

The best thing about the place is that you can put your salad together as you would like to for a very reasonable price (less than $80 Mexican pesos): you can choose things from the type of lettuce you want, to the vegetables, protein filling, dressing, etc. If you are not feeling particularly inspired that day, don’t worry about it! The menu has a broad selection of pre-designed salads that you can choose from.

In terms of drinks, they sell water, soft drinks, smoothies, juices, frappés and coffee - all of which are very tasty and can be ordered in a variety of sizes. It's a place that you can take small children to, as they serve combo meals designed for children, as well as a selection of delicious desserts. As if that wasn't enough, they also sell different types of bread, all of which are very healthy.

Description of my meal

In the image below, you can see my cream of broccoli soup served in a very original bowl: a rye bread roll. If you pull off a bit of the bread and soak it in the soup, it's going to taste delicious.

The sweetcorn soup is also very tasty. Each soup on the restaurant's menu costs less than $40 Mexican pesos.

Without a shadow of a doubt, the dessert was the most delicious part of the meal: a blondie with walnuts, ice-cream and sugar. The dish is served hot as it's freshly made, so be careful not to burn yourself like I did...

And what are the prices like?

The price-quality ratio was what I liked the most about the restaurant, as the salads, for example, were of a good size and tasted very good. All of the ingredients used are very fresh, and they only serve food made on that particular day. The water comes in just under 1 litre bottles, and the desserts are designed to be shared between two people.

What is the service like?

The service given by the waiting staff is unbeatable: from the moment that we first sat down, they were ready to take our order, and were always close by to check if we needed anything else, serving all of our food and drink with a smile and a friendly demeanour.

And the restaurant itself?

The restaurant is decorated like a fast food joint: there are several tables with giant numbers painted on them.

It's fresh, has awnings and is very well-ventilated. Everything about the place is nice, with a light, natural and very green decor.

Would I go back there again?

Of course I would! If you are trying to watch your weight, it's the absolute best place to go.

Is there room for improvement?

Not at all! Everything that is served here is delicious.
