How do you get there?
The restaurant, Pura Vida, is located a little bit further out of the centre of Querétaro. Booking a taxi there, however, could end up being a little more expensive. Pura Vida has lots of free car parking spaces and is located on a large street where many trucks pass by.
The menu
Personally, I think that the menu leaves a lot to be desired, as any Mexican would know that, in any other true seafood restaurant, a broader range of food would be offered, including: pasta with shrimps, more varieties of toast, and, especially, breaded fish with garlic sauce etc. So, it seems that this restaurant cannot be taken too seriously.
The service
In general, the service provided by the waiters is good. You've hardly even sat down before they offer you the menu, they are always ready to take your order, take your plates away and are especially quick to offer you bread and biscuits. They even bring you the bill quickly, and they generally have a positive attitude. If you celebrate a birthday there, the waiters come and sing to you at your table! The atmosphere is very good, very friendly.
The food
The food doesn't taste bad, however, you equally couldn't consider it to be good. The portion sizes aren't particularly generous and the prices you are expected to pay for these are ultimately very expensive. For example, they serve some very expensive quesadillas that end up being tiny and you finish them very quickly. You end up leaving the restaurant still hungry, despite having paid a huge bill. Besides, the range of drinks on offer is very limited and they aren't very good.
The decor
The restaurant has the typical decor of wooden tables, as well as things alluding to the sea and fishing. It's situated in a very open and well-ventilated place, so you won't be too hot there. It also has a television and very good music.
The tables are made of wood, and, in general, the restaurant is very clean.
Would I go back there again?
No, it's very expensive and the food is not worth paying for. Its food doesn't reflect the true flavours of Mexican food.
