Blume Café

If you are looking for a friendly place to have a coffee, eat breakfast, lunch, or even dinner, I would, without a shadow of a doubt, recommend Café Blume, which is one of my favourite cafés because I can bring my dog with no problems.

Pet-friendly place

Blume Café is located in the square of a very calm suburb, full of parks and trees. When I went with my 13 year old dog, I was impressed to see outdoor tables (where the dogs can sit) with a water bowl and lead for dogs; they are really welcome here!

In the photo, you can see that there is a kind of lead on the wall level with the floor, meaning that your dog can lie down.

Price-quality ratio

The menu prices are very affordable, and you can order an endless number of items: desserts, salads, smoothies, frappés, and made-to-order sandwiches; in this way, you can choose the protein that you like the most, as well as the bread and the dressing.

The decor

The place itself is beautifully decorated, it has two floors and both have a terrace that you can make use of if you want to smoke or simply eat your food outside with your pet. Although the service is generally good, the waiters serve you faster if you are sat on the ground floor, so I recommend that you choose a table there.

One of the things that I have liked most about this coffee shop is that they integrate things with nature, as you can see in the following photo. The tree could have been obstructed by many things, but the owners conserved it, decorating it with lightbulbs, which make it look really classy at night. They also integrated upright gardening plots on the terrace.

The bathroom is also on the ground floor and is very clean and organised, it smells nice, and the decor is in accordance with that of the rest of the restaurant.

The café's originality is also evident through the presentation of their drinks, as they are served in some very original glasses, as well as the desserts (mine was served in a flowerpot! ).

They satisfy even the most demanding of palates

This is one of the most important things for people who have digestive problems like myself. The café has a very broad and light menu, one that includes salads, desserts, baguettes, and sandwiches. In addition to this, the staff are very friendly and are open to changing any ingredient in a dish that doesn't tickle your fancy; for the baguettes, you can choose the type of bread, the filling, the side (fries or salad), the dressing, and the vegetables that you want it to have. A similar thing happens with the drinks, as the people who cannot consume milk can have their drink made with soya milk or rice milk if it's available.

How much does it cost to dine there?

If you want a coffee and dessert, you'll pay around 70 Mexican pesos.

If you want something bigger, like a baguette or a salad with a drink, it'll cost, on average, 120 Mexican pesos.

How do I get there?

Unfortunately, public transport in Querétaro is not very efficient, but taxis are available at all times and, if you come from Europe, they will charge you a lower fare.

If you come by taxi (which is what I wholeheartedly recommend), ask the driver to take you to the square in the suburb called Jardines de la Hacienda, which is situated about 50 metres from Starbucks. With this point of references, you won't get lost!

If you decide to come by car, you won't need to park in the street, as Café Blume has its own car park located on the next block.
