Christiania
The place in Copenhagen where people consider themselves not Danish but the citizens of independent country of Christiania. It's not so true though. Christiania is fully dependent on Copenhagen, from the energy and other supplies that come from Copenhagen, the children are going to Copenhagen schools and Universities. However, what makes Christiania so special and independent? The answer is freedom.
Christiania is the only place in Denmark where you can smoke weed "officially". Besides that, crazy drinking, parties, making love and other forms of happenings is highly appreciated.
Because people don't want to have problems with the police, making photos in Christiania is not allowed. Just don't even try, people respect their privacy and you might get into the fight because of one photo.
What to see and what to do?
The key word is relax. If you don't smoke weed, try Christiania beer, take a snack, listen to the concert, lay near the lake and etc. No panic in Christiania, no rush.
People are mostly friendly there, they enjoy meeting new friends and discuss latest news.
Note: be careful with pickpockets.
