The introduction

Hello everyone, I hope, that you are all doing just fine!

In this article I want to tell you about this place in Copenhagen, which is called Paper Island or you might see it written PapirØen in Danish. It’s a pretty unusual place, however, there are always some things happening and it’s a famous street food place in Copenhagen and there are always many people there.

Well, this is a place, where you will enjoy and hang out with your friends and it’s only a few minutes walk from the Nyhavn, which is the main tourist attraction in Copenhagen, if you want to know the truth.

To be honest, I didn’t reallly know anything about this Papiroen place, until I was just walking around the city of Copenhagen and I just walked through the canals and on the bridges and went to the Opera House, which is a pretty amazing building and the view from there is just wonderful, if you ask me.

About PapirØen

So, this PapirØen  is a Paper Island in English and it’s located on the eastern embankment of the harbour in Copenhagen and it’s just in front of the Opera house through the canal and it’s also opposite the Royal Danish Playhouse.

I’m sure, that you are interested in the name, I mean, it was pretty interesting to know about the name of the Paper Island, why it was called that and, well, it’s like you would never guess about that, if you ask me. So that, there used to be a storage or something like that for the papers for the Danish Press Association.
