Russian Salad
Although it's originally a Russian dish (surprisingly a lot of people don't know that), it's very popular in Spain, so much so in fact you could say it's a traditional dish, available in any Spanish bar you find yourself in, and that above all else, you enjoy as you would any other tapas.
It's easy and fuss free to make, even better it's cheap.
Method
Boil 2 carrots and 3 medium sized potatoes. It's better to chop them up before hand as the boil much quicker.
Whilst they are boiling away you need to make the garlic mayonnaise. You'll need two eggs, two cloves of garlic, a good splash of sunflower oil and a pinch of salt. Put all this in a bowl and whisk it up. If it doesn't thicken, keeping adding a tiny bit more oil as you mix until it does. (There's a recipe for how to make alioli or mayonnaise on my recipe blog, have a look at that if you need to know more details).
When the potatoes and carrots are soft (about half an hour) take them off the heat and let them cool. You can put them in cold water, leave them on the side, or even put them in the fridge. Once they have cooled mix them with the mayonnaise, and add as much or as little tuna as you'd like (3 tins). You can also add some boiled eggs and some peas.
Ready
It's a delicious dish, one you can eat in winter and the summer, although it's more common in the summertime given that it's a cold dish.
Try to make it! I'm sure anyone that does will absolutely love it.
